My name is Crystal Burney and I am a travel addict. There is nothing I enjoy more then waking up in a foreign country, grabbing my camera and setting off for the day, taking 1000s of photos as I as immerse myself in the culture around me.
My addiction began as a child in my grandma’s living room. By age 90, she had been to over 120 countries and as she regaled us with beautiful photos and stories from her latest travels, I couldn’t wait to get out there and see the world myself.
This excitement quickly turned into an obsession after a high school trip to England. I spent the week traveling around on buses and trains, exploring the country and falling in love with travel.
This addiction has led to some incredible experiences from building houses in Costa Rica to living in an orphanage in Kenya to climbing Mt. Kilimanjaro and this is only the beginning. As my grandma says, “The more you see, the more you want to see. Travel gets into your blood.”
“Tales of a Travel Addict” follows me as I travel the world one country at a time, searching beyond the tourist hot spots to find hidden gems off-the-beaten path.
It’s a big world out there and I plan to see it all and provide funny and informative tales of my adventures, and misadventures, along the way.
